Antony Price

(Born 1945) Trained at London's Royal College of Art 1965-68. Designer at Stirling Cooper 1968-1974 and at Plaza 1974-79. Antony Price's clothes reflect his technical abilities and his interest in construction. He was at the forefront of early 1970s glamrock style and designed clothes for Bryan Ferry, Roxy Music, Duran Duran, Jagger and Bowie. Launched own label in 1979. Famous for his wonderfully cut and constructed overtly glamorous eveningwear and bold tailored clothing.

"Antony is an amazing British designer," says Nick Rhodes of Duran Duran. "He's incredibly clever, technically. He's one of the few designers I have met who can draw something, and go and cut the pattern himself, and he can go and make it, and it will look exactly like the drawing. Very few people, even some of the major designers, have that skill on their own".
