Bill Blass

Born:-06/22/1922 - born William Ralph Blass in Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
Died:-06/12/2002

Designer, known for his designs in the 1960s that defined the American style. Bill Blass brought a whole definition to American style, combining the very best of 'old Europe' with a new world aesthetic. Before Bill Blass most American fashion designers were anonymous. He was just as comfotable designing clothes for Manhattan's most fashionable women as he was perfecting a classic style of interior design often described as"Philadelphian". Bill Blass was one of many designere who used trunk shows to gain customers, profits and a growing reputation. Never yielding to trendy looks such as disco or grunge, the Bill Blass name has acquired a loyal fashion following. Received three Coty Awards.

He died at the age of 79 from cancer.
