Famous for his association with Carol Burnett. Known as "the boss of beads," "the sultan of sequins." and "the rajah of rhinestones." Bob Mackie's dazzling gowns are the ultimate in glamour and magnificence. His unique style consists of covering an entire outfit in glittering beads. Mackie has created thousands of colourful costumes fro TV, film, and the stage. Stars love his work. He dressed many stars including Cher, Sharon Stone, Madonna and even Barbie. His creations look as if they are dripping with beads. Most of his beaded gowns are made by at least four people and take up to four weeks to complete. Thousands of beads are used to make one dress. |
