Caren Pfleger
Cologne-based designer Caren Pfleger once had ambitions to be a doctor-and
studied medicine before becoming a model. Having gained an insight into
the fashion world, she went on to graduate from the New York Fashion
Institute of Technology in the late '70s and founded her own production
company. Her first ready-to-wear collection in 1980 was well received, and
a year later her designs were shown at New York's Guggenheim Museum. She
is a three-time winner of the prestigious Fil d'Or fashion award.
Quality and practicality are the essence of Caren Pfleger's designs, which
are created in simple lines, classic styles and luxurious fabrics. They can
be found in boutiques spread from Harvey Nichols in London to Saks Fifth
Avenue in New York and more recently in Hong Kong.
