Claude Montana

Montana's first independent fashion show success came in 1976 when he staged a fashion show at Angelina's tearooms in Paris that has never been forgotten. His rise to fame was meteoric. He set up his own company in 1979, and began creating masculine fashion forms for women, with the large, sharp shoulders that became his trademark. He earned a reputation as the enfants terrible of the couture scene, but would later reach the heights of the haute couture world via the house of Lanvin.

Montana makes liberal use of fabrics such as velvet, crepe, mousseline, leather and fur, wrapping women in white fox or coloured mink capes.
