
Graham Smith
(Born 1939)
Trained at Bromley College of Art and the
London's Royal College of Art, graduated 1958. Worked for one year at
Lanvin-Castillo, Paris. Returned to London and
joined Michael for the next seven years.
Opened his own workshop in 1967, producing
millinery under his own label and one-off model
hats for designers, including Jean Muir. In
1981 he was appointed Design Director at
Kangol. He has continued to produce his own
line, creating a spectrum of designs from
whimsical to the understated.
