Helen Storey

(Born 1959) Trained at Kingston Polytechnic, then worked at Valentino, Lancetti and Bellville Sassoon. Launched own label, Amalgamated Talent, with Caroline Coates in 1983. In 1987 she opened her first shop, Boyd & Storey, with partners Coates and Karen Boyd. From 1990, worked under own name. Eclectic high fashion, often incorporating beading and streetstyle influences. Went out of business 1995. Author of Fighting Fashion (London: Faber & Faber 1996).
