
Jasper Conran
(Born 1960)
Trained Parsons School of Art and Design, New
York 1975-77. Worked briefly for Fiorucci in
New York and Wallis in London Produced first
collection 1979 aged just 19 years. From the
outset, Conran's precision-cut
refined and linear clothes were a great
success. Respected for his fine workmanship,
attention to detail and use of distinctive textile
designs many his own. Recently diversified
into the more experimental area of costume
design for ballet and theatre. British Designer
or the Year 1986.
