
Patricia Roberts
(Born 1945)
Trained in fashion at Leicester Polytechnic with
knitting as a subsidiary subject. Worked for
IPC magazines in the early 1970s. Saw a gap in
the market for interesting hand-knits and set up
as a freelance knitwear designer. Her earliest
work was sold to Browns. Opened her first
London shop in 1976 and has published many
knitting pattern books since this time.
Innovative fashionable designs exploiting a
bold use of colour contrasting textures and
decorative stitches.
