Largely self-taught except for six months instruction from a St Martin's School of Art tutor. Inspired by the crisp simplicity of the traditional clothing of her native Iran, Guild's loose-layered designs are all about comfort and understated style. Wide-leg trousers with wraparound belts, oversized round-neck tops with square kimono sleeves and her ubiquitous box sweaters. Gulid uses luxurious fabrics such as cashmere, tweed and flannel and her clothes come in subtle colours-brown, blue, grey, black and white.
