(1943-92)
Born in Wales. Studied architecture at
Willesden Technical College but at 19
abandoned his studies to work for Ward & Co.
traditional London tailors. Launched own name
Savile Row premises in 1969 funded by Cilla
Black and Peter Brown of Apple (The Beatles
record company). Tommy Nutter
revolutionized menswear tailoring by
introducing high fashion to Savile Row.
