| The Look of Leather |
Like last year, this season has glamour and sex appeal.
I hope you're all still working hard at aerobics or, whatever 'cos fitted clothes are in fashion -- the curve is still an important part of the Nineties look.
This season's pieces are detailed: narrow belts, many buttons - in long single or double rows. Skirts are anywhere from thigh length to knee length; hems have been dropped anywhere down to ankle length. At last! Now you can walk down the street without wondering if you're showing anything you shouldn't.
The look of leather adds sex appeal to your wardrobe this fall. Any leather article will do - jackets, skirts, pants, dresses - especially in black.
Short A-Line skirts are in style, belted with eye-catching buckles. Favourite patterns are pin stripes and tweeds.
Boots are worn to meet the hem line, or just over the knee.
The general look seems to take its lead from the Seventies. A Nineties approach to the Seventies if you like. Look at lapels and the cut of jeans and trousers.
We can start to get dressed up again... It's been so long... can we remember how? I mean with all the hats and stuff?
Sorry, no more hiding under loose layers, I'm off to the gym.
Fur trim is anywhere; skirt hems, wristbands, necklines, earmuffs, tops
of boots... Can you think of anywhere else?
